We offer many yoga classes, as well as offer various yoga workshops that provide a nice change of pace. Classes
Restorative Yoga – Level I
This is a practice of gentle, long-held postures, often done with the support of props that allow the body to passively relax and release built-up tension. The class will begin with a few easy, slow movements, followed by several single restful postures held for anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes. The practice concludes with meditation and a long shavasana. You will leave with a sense of deep relaxation and peace. Level I: No yoga experience required.
Meditation
Prana Yoga & Wellness specializes in a meditation-based form of yoga called Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra comes from the Indian yoga tradition. The technique could be described as a lying down form of meditation that uses the whole body as a focus of awareness. We are passionate about helping people get out of chronic stress mode and into a state of deep relaxation, improving digestion and the body’s natural ability to heal. Yin Yoga
Suitable for all levels. Yin Yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Yin is yoga at its coolest, deepest, quietest, stillest moments. This class will have you on the floor most of the time, using as many props needed to create as little effort while holding poses. Poses are held for 2-5 minutes allowing joints and fascia to release. This class will complement your Vinyasa practice.
Gentle Yoga
This class is specifically designed to provide therapeutic benefits of yoga to cancer patients, survivors and loved ones in a relaxed and supportive environment. Specific movements and postures along with mindful breathing and meditation techniques help manage stress and support the immune system. Theraputic yoga will help you build strength, improve flexibility and range of motion and support the health of the cardiac and lymphatic systems. Jordan Valley Cancer Center is a place to be able to practice yoga with others who have cancer stories. Theraputic yoga sessions will help with physical issues in the body, reduce stress and anxiety and reconnect you to your self. Being in community with others expands the ability to feel support.
